A DESTINATION

The 1806 General Store is located on the North side of the historic Livingston Town Square. Our building was originally the Speck Brothers Hardware Store, it was constructed around 1937. 1806 General Store is part museum, part antique shop and part restaurant.  In addition to the General Store the building houses the Antique Market with over 40 high quality vendor booths.  The 1806 in our name is reflective of the year Overton County was formed shortly after the American Revolution and the State of Tennessee was formed. In addition to the historic building visitors can enjoy seeing the large number of pictures on our wall that date back to the early 1900s.

Our shelves were original to the building as are the hardwood floors. The shelves once held parts for the hardware’s repair shop, the largest shelf has 100 cubby holes and is 20 feet long, made from a solid oak board as the base. Note the writing on the shelving boards that were constructed of shipping containers.
